Rhys Gerholdt
Director of Communications & Media Strategy, Climate Program

Rhys Gerholdt is the Director of Communications & Media Strategy for the Climate Program at World Resources Institute. He brings expansive knowledge of WRI’s issues and skills as a communications strategist, with more than 15 years of climate communications experience.
Rhys joined WRI from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), where he managed communications and media relations on a range of topics including international and domestic climate policy, deforestation, climate adaptation and the issues in the Mekong River basin.
Prior to WWF, Rhys was Communications Manager for U.S. Climate Action Network, a coalition of organizations advancing ambitious climate action in the United States and through the United Nations.
Rhys holds a Master’s in Communication from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in Government from New Mexico State University.
He lives in West Virginia with his wife Jennifer.
